Earthquake in Japan

On 11th March 2:46pm, Tokyo time, the earthquake struck. The 9.0-magnitude earthquake set off a devastating tsunami that sent walls of water washing over coastal cities in the north. It is the strongest one ever recorded in Japan. Actually I know the earthquake was not the main catastrophe to Japan, to the world. The nuclear leakage was. The nuclear plant in Fukushima was severely damaged by the tsunami, which led to nuclear reactor explosion and radiation leakage. This has become the worldwide issue already. The radiation has spread over most part of Japan and threatened other counties of the world, but it seems that the leakage problem has not been controlled yet. I pray for Japan and pray for the world.
I try my best to keep track of all the related news about the nuclear leakage and found that the more serious the leakage is, the more rumors appear. People feel panic and thus, their judgments become weaker. The result is obvious. They will more easily to trust the so-called-tips and so-called-news. Recently, Chinese was told by a message that salt can effectively protect people from radiation effect. Therefore, people from most cities of China crazily grab as much salt from supermarket as possible. It caused chaos and perhaps will lead to other unexpected issue happen. I think our government should intervene promptly and honestly tell us the truths.
On the other hand, there are thousands of messages about gloating the disaster happened in Japan from Baidu search engine. Some of our Chinese think Japan deserves it and think it is none of their business to show sympathy and give a hand to Japan because of the unforgivable massacre and all their inhumanity. Yes, we must remember the history but when disaster happened, it becomes the obligation for us to show our sympathy and do whatever we can automatically, regardless nationalities, races, regions. It is because we are human beings. That is what a progressive country should do. Beyond that, I think we can learn a lot from Japan during the disaster; the self-discipline of its people, its extensive disaster preparedness, its strict construction codes and moreover and the emphasis of the government.
