College Life, I Am Ready!

It is almost the end of our bridging course now. I still remember that when I came here last year in December, I thought 6 months was going to be quite a long time. However, now more than 5 months have passed. The time left is still decreasing little by little. What seemed long and far away now seems short and around the corner and our last math class in bridging course was even finished. We are going to be separated in to different majors and halls, after which we may not see each other so often, which means that we are going to make new friends in a new world of life. To be honest, I did not quite cherish this opportunity to make more friends here at the beginning for I think this is just a short phase between me and the real college life; but now I found that I really made some good friends here and I already began to feel depressed because we may not have the chance to stay closely like now for we have determined to major in different fields in university. The faces of whom I am going to meet every day may be very unfamiliar when the new life starts. We have been accustomed to stay together but we all have our own dreams, which is the reason why we need to say goodbye to each other in a few days. Although it is not easy for me to do such things, I think I could adjust myself well from the past. One always needs to be mature for himself if he wants to be strong enough to be a grown-up. And I am already a adult according to the laws in China, so all the fears and untutored behaviors from the past will be eliminated and replaced by what a reasonable and qualified adult should possess. This is going to be my second time to enter a university and my first time to study in an oversea university. I often dreamed of studying abroad so I grabbed the chance half of a year ago. now my dream is to win myself a big success in my college life and then support my parents as well as my own family in the future. Ten years seems a long time now, but it will be just as short as one day when it passes. Moreover, to make the most of this period, I have determined to make a plan and stick to it no matter what happens to me. College life, I am ready!

Unforgettable Memory

Time flies by. We have been in Singapore for more than five months. It is really a sad thing that we will finish our English course. It is time for our group and our respectable tutors to be apart with each other. We have had a lot good memories together, which we will never forget.
In addition, this period is also a tough time for many students in China, because they are going to take the university entrance examination. We SM3 students have experienced it last year this time. Although it was tiring and tough, the life was substantial. It is a part of our lives. Moreover, I called one of my friends in China who is restudying in senior school. She now is very worried and embarrassed; she is afraid of failing again. However, she is so nervous that she cannot concentrate on her study. She is also not confident because she did not do well in her last tests. All in all, her mind is suffering now; it is really a tough time. I think we really experienced a lot last year: we took the university entrance examination; we entered the university and were chosen as SM3 students; and we came to Singapore for study. It has a great influence on our lives.
By the way, I want to give those students who are facing the university entrance examination my best wishes. I hope that they can enter their ideal universities.

Che Guevara

He remains both a revered and reviled historical figure, though many critics regard him as a thug and sociopathic killer. Even Zhou Enlai said that he was blind and idealistic. However, I referred to him as an inspiration for every person who loves freedom and he has encouraged the youth to struggle for dreams. He is Che Guevara who is a Marxist revolutionary, physician, guerrilla leader, and global insignia of popular culture. I think he has three merits that deserve emulation and respect as a young student, Guevara has an unalterable belief about what he should do in the future. In 1948, he entered the university to study medicine and all his families forced him to become a doctor. Then he travelled throughout Latin America and next year he tripped though the rural provinces of northern Argentina on a small motor. This experience and observations completely transformed him. The poverty and injustice led him to realize that it is the revolution that can bring peace and justice. As a result, he determined to become a guerrilla following Castro and began his life full of fighting for freedom. he never gave up and was not tempted by money. When he held the position of the president of National Bank in Cuba, he was very frugal. For example, he never went to nightclub, cinema and even beach. In addition, he refused more salay. After his visit to many socialism countries, he was worried about the prospect of socialism. The reason was that he noticed many revolutionaries drived luxurious cars and surrounded by beautiful ladies, and they gave up their original dreams. So he left Cuba, and chose to help Africans fight for freedom. he struggled not only for certain country but also the whole world. He had a worldwide view. After emancipating Cuba, he went to Congo and Bolivia. He passed on knowledge about wars to the local and led them to fight for freedom. He left his family and abandoned the high status, on the contrary, he returned to battle field and struggled for freedom until he was killed cruelly.

My visit to Singapore Zoo

My visit to Singapore zoo
Since Singapore wild zoo is very famous, I went to visit it last Saturday with my roommate. It was really a different experience for me, and I will never forget it.
We prepared for the route a day before and got up early in the morning. The zoo was a little far away; we set up before 8 o’clock, but we arrived at 9:30 am. Then we started to walk around the zoo and see. To tell the truth, the wild zoo is very close to nature. There are monkeys, chimpanzees, birds, cats, rabbits, giraffes, zebras, butterflies, elephants, otters, sea lions, penguins, snakes, and others. Some animals really impressed me a lot.
The first one is penguin. It is the truth that penguins live in a very cold condition. However, what surprised me a lot was that the thin penguins were
enjoying the sun bath, and they were very cute. Then we were enjoyable when visiting the birds’ house. When we went into it, we could see many birds flying over our heads, and we could hear the sounds of birds all around us. We felt that we were walking in the forest. Another impressing thing is feeding the chimpanzees. When the staff was throwing the fruits, a mother monkey stretched out her arm asking for the food. It looked very cute, just like a real man.
Furthermore, we also saw four shows there, and I like the elephant’s show and the sea lion’s show most. The shows were interesting and the animals were very skillful.
All in all, the Singapore zoo is well worth visiting. It is very interesting and impressive. Finally, we spent almost eight hours visiting it. Although it is far from Eton Hall, someday you can go and visit it. You will not be regretful!

Forest Gump

Forest Gump

Gump was in Jenny's dormitory and Jenny asked him "Do you have dreamed about who are you going to be?" Gump was in doubt for a while and said "aren't I going to be me?" Jenny said she wanted to be famous, and she wanted to be a singer like Joan Baez. Gump did not understand and he just wanted to be himself.

This sense touched my heart. Although Gump was a idiot, he knew what he really needed. Being famous and making money are not important for him at all. What is important is being yourself. What make us deserve other people's respect? Career, Social status, or property? If so, we will become accessory of these things. I should be myself and all I dream is being myself.

A normal person has the ability for choosing and he knows what is important. A normal person has many choices, so he is always waiting for the next one which he thinks is the best. A normal person does not concentrate on what he thinks is useless. However, Gump is not a normal person unluckily. His intelligence quotient is low. His girlfriend, joining school football team and army, playing table tennis, catching shrimps and running are not his own choices. It seems that others are always choosing things for him. Of course, he will never ask questions like "what is my life for" He just did it.

I think this movie tells us a truth: too many choices will mislead you. Facing our lives, we should get ready. It is because "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get".

Changes

What can distance do to my life? What is its overall influence on me as well as my life? I have been asking this question to myself for quite a long time since I came here. It is May now and to be roughly calculated, over 5 months have passed by. That is nearly half a year! Time really flies. The day I made farewell to my parents seems like it was just yesterday. Then today I am here sitting with the final end approaching closer and closer.
I found many of us have already gotten used to the different life pace here and some even began to regret that they have not made most of the time past that they called “honeymoon before the real university work”. But for me, I was just doing what I was supposed to do to adapt myself better.
I used to make one call to my parents but now just one per week. I never thought about this but it is distance that gradually unknowingly changed me. I used to dream of the world outside but now the same dream of homeland repeats again and again. It is distance that redirected my mind and heart. I used to be less self-dependent but now I am pretty independent, and it is distance that forced me to become mature. I used to be shy of speaking English but now I am much more confident. I used to fear the hot weather in summer but now everyday is summer and I have somehow got used to it already. I used to feel alone when left home but now with lots of friends I have found another home.
With a long distance to my home, the long time during here witnessed my changes from the very first day. I miss home and I miss her, but to love them better, I know I must work hard and perform excellently in the formal university life. And in my mind, I already determined to fight!

My visit to Singapore Art Museum

My visit to Singapore Art Museum

Last Wednesday we went the Singapore Art Museum. It was the art garden. In the gallery of new contemporary art acquisition from Southeast Asia, we saw the Java's machine. There were 15 life size figures, and it seemed as a band. The figure could play the drum automatically. Then I put the emphases on a small room. Its size was 250*250*250 cm. Its name was He is Satisfied from Monday to Friday and on Sunday He loves to Cry. It was made by Chun Kaifeng. He won the Singapore Art Exhibition Prize in 2009. It was a typical room for working and there were just two colors in the room: white and black. I think this room conveys an anxiety that most people who live in the urban societies can relate to. Chun subverts the original purpose of a diorama to one that is almost discomforting to the viewer. Then I went to the Learning Gallery. The gallery is dedicated to presenting artwork from SAM's collection to young visitors. The show there made me understand the artists from Singapore and Southeast Asia. It made me reflect on the function of these objects and the relation to other objects. I think the objects in the learning gallery are specially selected to encourage lively discussion and develop creative and analytical thinking. I learned a lot from this visit and there are not so many difference between the museum in Singapore and in China.

My visit to Singapore Art Museum

My visit to Singapore Art Museum
This Wednesday we had a learning journey to Singapore Art Museum and National Museum of Singapore after an English test. It was very interesting and we knew a lot of things from it. Singapore Art Museum especially impressed me a lot. It is a magical and dreamy museum, which really attracted me.
In the museum, there are many wonderful works made by famous artists, especially many beautiful and meaningful photographs and pictures. For example, “Fire of the Year” is a photograph reflecting the story of the Bukit Ho Swee Fire in 1961. “Butterfly” is a beautiful picture painted by Tan Oe Pang who is one of Singapore’s established ink artists. However, one photograph gave me much impression and made me think a lot about it. Its name is “Pink man”.
It reflects the political situation of Thailand at that time. It is about an incident in which many undergraduates were killed. In the photograph, a young man is cruelly hit by another man, nearly to die. The ironic thing is that there are many people watching this, but no one wants to hold it back; some people are even laughing at him. Moreover, there is a man in pink standing beside with a cart, looking at this scene. This seems to be a satire. What a ridiculous thing! Therefore, the politics in Thailand at that time was not good and brought so many miseries to its citizens. Of course, not just Thailand, but also many other countries have gone through similar periods. I am pity for those people who have suffered from these. At the same time, I have to say this can make a country develop.
All in all, this journey was really wonderful. It widened my horizon and I also learned a lot knowledge and history about Singapore. Thus, it was an unforgettable experience for me.

A Visit to SNM and SAM

On this Wednesday, I went to the Singapore National Museum as well as Singapore Arts Museum in the afternoon. I thought it was going to be a boring journey, but I was wrong. The experience there somehow impressed me. Actually I did not like visiting places like museums for I do not like history. However, this visit in a way changed my opinion. We first arrived at the national museum and after a short wait, we began to have a visit of the Singapore History Museum. To my surprise, everyone was given an electronic device which was specially made for visitors to listen to the introductions and explanations in each area. We put on the headphones and then respectively began our history journey. I followed the instructions to a big hall and there was a song being played and it was going like this “Singapore, Singapore… ”. A specially shot video was played around us on the wall. After that we went down to the 1st floor and then entered the old times of Singapore. Just after a few basic introductions, there were two ways before me, one is personal story and one is the event sequence. Although most people chose the latter, I decided to choose a different way to learn about the history. I learnt the foundation of Singapore and the development of its economy and even the life details of the ordinary people at that time. What impressed me most is the World War II in Singapore for I came from China, which was also suffering from the invasion of Japanese. I saw the pictures and heard the sound; I was shocked by the cruelty of war hoping that there will be no war at all in the future. At 3 o’clock, we went to our second destiny----SAM. At the second floor, we saw some strange but meaningful exhibitions, they are interesting but some of them are really difficult to understand its meaning. Then we enter a special exhibition at a corner and I was totally shocked and frightened by the exhibition there because it was all about the dark side of human society, including death and violence and some seemingly ridiculous things. We spent half an hour in that special exhibition area and finally could not bear the uncomfortable atmosphere there and then quickly left. Generally, SAM is a place for new ideas but also for old topics. Compared with SAM, I prefer SNM more because the visit there really dragged me into it. However, I did not have enough time to finish all of it. So maybe next time, when I am free and do not have to hurry, I will go through it again and look for more details!

my impression of SAM and SNM

After the progress test, we went to National Museum of Singapore and Singapore Art Museum to have our learning journey two.
In National Museum of Singapore, I visited Singapore History Gallery. Just like the literal meaning, it exhibited Singapore’s history from the 14th century to the modern period. It took a story-telling approach to guide us to explore the Singapore’s history, which was dramatically different from it in china. In museums in China, plentiful exhibitions were on display. Most of them were historical relics and they restored the history in an objective method. However, National Museum of Singapore showed the history in a vivid way. Every of us was provided with a companion, which told us the stories behind those exhibitions. There were two paths we could choose---Events path and Personal path and I appreciated the latter one. It showed the life of the populace. They were nobodies in history but they reflected the real history. I was impressed by the students who suffered the racial discrimination but still fighted for the equal. I felt sorry for the carters of the rickshaw who struggled to support their family.
Singapore Art Museum collected the artworks all over the world. I like those three-dimensional works. There was a painting lay in the rack and the content of that painting was some bottles lay on a rack. Because of the chiaroscuro, I did not realize that it was a painting. I believed that they were real objects. The learning gallery also leaved a favorable impression on me. All the works were selected for the young visitors. There were lively discussions for each work, from which we could had a fundamental acknowledge of the art. They roused my interest in art. This embodied the goal of a museum. That was to introduce art to the people who knew little about art and guided them to appreciate the art.
There are many museums but these two museum have their characteristic, which distinguish them from others.

homesickness

Homesickness
I used to believe that I have already adapted to the lie there. Every day, I go to school, finish the homework, watch some American serials and go shopping. Sometimes, I imagine that if I do not come to Singapore, I would lead an approximate life as well. Nevertheless, we are informed that we cannot go back to china this summer. But our friends in NTS can go home. These days, they always discuss about booking the tickets, revealing the happiness. Hence, I feel homesick and I am determined that I am not the only person who have such feeling.
Frankly speaking, I miss the delicacy in my hometown. Shandong is located in the north of China; I am accustomed to the wheaten food, which seems to be compulsory for me. However, it is totally different in Singapore. Rice takes the place of the wheaten food. Moreover, people in my hometown usually sauté the food and use peanut oil. So the food tastes different from the food in Singapore. Although I appreciate the food here, I still miss that taste in my hometown.
I miss my mother. She is a teacher and is not occupied with her work. Naturally she puts much of her effort into looking after me, even spoiling me. Every morning, she wakes me up and passes me the clothes that I should wear. Every time I go home, the meal is cooked and displayed on the table. Every time I feel sad, she hugs me and let me cry. When we go shopping together, I hold her hands and murmur”mum, mum.”
I miss my father. In my mind, he is a truly extraordinary man. When I am confused, he can help me to set up an aim. When I am depressed, he will encourage me to persist. When I am dispirited, he can pass his passion to me. He infects me a lot. He expands my horizon. I try my best to be as persistent and optimistic as him. But I cannot.
I know that I should learn to live independently. But it is definitely difficult for me to stop homesickness.

Respect your interests

Respect your interests
Next week we will choose our own major, so now some students are still very confused, including me. I cannot make a firm decision yet. The professors, seniors and even my parents all ask me to choose what I like and what I want to study.
This reminds me of an Indian comedy “Three idiots”. Three engineering students named Farhan, Raju, and Rancho become roommates at the Imperial College of Engineering. They go to study engineering for different purposes. Farhan studies engineering just because his father wants him to do this, but actually what he likes doing is photographing. Raju studies to earn much money for his family. Otherwise, Rancho has much passion for machines and devices, so he chooses to study engineering for joy. Then only Rancho studies very freely and happily, and gets very good grades. He also persuades Farhan’s father to let his son do what he likes.
Therefore, interests are very important. We had better not be like Farhan. He studies what he is not interested in, so he cannot get much fun from it and cannot enjoy studying, too. All in all, choosing majors is very vital, so we should take it very seriously. The most important thing is that we choose majors according to our interests. We should respect our interests. I hope that everyone can learn what they are interested in.

Let Bullets Fly

Let bullets fly

After watching Let Bullets fly for three times, I wondered how much money did this earned. Then I was told that this film had reached a record 700 million yuan at the Chinese box office. I thought it could reach one billion yuan easily if the government did not take effort to block it. It occurred to me because Feng Xiaogang's tearjerker disaster epic Aftershock (2010) got about 500 million yuan which I thought is ridiculous and extremely stupid.

Set in the chaotic years after the collapse of imperial rule, Let The Bullets Fly tells the story of a Robin Hood-like bandit who kidnaps a con-man about to take up the mayorship he secured through bribes. The bandit swops identities with his hostage and become mayor, only to find himself locked in a battle of wits against a corrupt businessman who made his fortune from tobacco and human trafficking.

As Jiang Wen says in the movie, he wants to "earn money while standing upright" instead of kowtowing to authority. Is that Jiang the film-maker saying he wants to make movies without censoring himself? I do not know how this movie which is full of political criticism passed the strict censorship. But Jiang made it. He did not sacrifice his artistic and personal integrity to produce a commercial hit. Chinese directors known for their earlier, critical works, such as Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige, have come under fire for gravitating towards apolitical historical and gongfu epics that do not offend the government and meet growing market demand. Compared with them, Jiang has a more firm belief and he does not regard the cruel reality as the excuse to give up his ideas.

In 2000, his film Devils on the Doorstep, which won the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, was banned in China. In an unpublished document that circulated in Beijing' film community at that time, censors branded the film unpatriotic. I think this time, Jiang made his film express his personal politic beliefs in a more hidden way.

Movie critics say there is more to the movie than meets the eyes. Perhaps, the con-man and businessman are symbols of corrupt Chinese officials who have secretly pocketed the fruits of the country' capitalist-style economic reforms.

love?

When I skim through my notebook, I find a profound sentence that was said by my instructor in Shandong University at our first class meeting. He said that: “I will not forbid the love affair between boy and girl. But, I sincerely hope you do not yield to carnal desire, lonesome, or the greedy for warmth.”
I find that the love affair prevails among is. Some people are in sweet love. Some people keep the love for a very short time. Some people extremely miss their lovers in China. Since we come to this strange environment, we may feel lonesome and long for a person to accompany us. Nevertheless, I feel it is indiscreet to confirm this is love. It is moved as a fellow sufferer. Moreover, little love between undergraduates can be lasted throughout the life. So I prefer to act as a good friend rather than love and then break up. I am afraid to lose an intimate friend.
Somebody has said that: “when you feel helpless and confused, the god will dispatch the angel to accompany and comfort you. After your life steps into regular, they may leave.” I admit that I have met some boys who encouraged me to overcome the difficulties when I was under enormous stress. Sometimes I held a special feeling to them but I did not think it is love. Nowadays we are just close friends, get contact with each other occasionally and then lead a respective life.
I do not know what love is. In the serial, Guo furong says that: “if you fall in love with somebody, at the beginning, you enjoy the unbridled passion. However, he is the person who you need to live together throughout your life. Ten years or twenty years later, when the passion fades away, how can you continue to live together?” she gives the answer “what you have suffered together can remind you of the present happiness. As long as you evoke the memory that you went through many difficulties in order to get together, you will treasure you present life. It may be insipid but it must be valuable.”
Perhaps she is correct, but I recall a gloomy love folklore------the love between Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian. Bai Suzhen is winsome, virtuous and gentle. All fine qualities assemble in her personality. She has saved the life of Xu Xian. But finally she loses her glamour for Xu Xian. He has a dubious relationship with her sister. He is tired of her. The unalterable oath of love seems to be a joke. I cannot understand.
What is love?

What Are Words

Today I accidentally watched a video on Youku website when I was wandering in the world of Internet. The title is What Are Words. It is actually a MTV specially shot for this song by Chris Medina. This video was shared over 300 thousand times and watched over 2000 thousand times on Youku.com website in China. The Chinese title tagged to the original video from abroad translated into English is There exits a feeling that allows every spectator around moved, and that is love! It is going to make me cry out all my tears on it! Well, I have to admit that this guy is not exaggerating the song. This song is really pure and beautiful with the simple but strongly touching lyrics. When the soft piano started the song, my heart soon entered a world of peace and love. Unlike most of songs, the prelude of this song is not more than 15 seconds and it quickly brought me into the main story of the singer.
The first line of the lyrics goes Anywhere you are, I am near; anywhere you go, Ill be there; anytime you whisper my name, you will see.  With the beautiful and pure voice of Chris, the scene of their love memory comes into the video. I can see the happiness showed on the face of his girl friend when given a big surprise by him. Somehow I began to appreciate their love from my bottom of my heart when I knew their touching love story from the subtitle on the top of the video. Chris was ever one of TOP 24 of American Idol when he was engaged to his deeply loved girl friend. His baby, his finacee, however, was suddenly hit on her head in an unexpected car accident. And her brain was terribly damaged after the strong shock and lost its basic function as a normal person has. She could not take care of herself even in many basic daily things, every day with the help of his boy friend. Nevertheless, Chris Medina still worked hard as well as tried his best to take care of her although every one knew that how tough and heavy the responsibility he took on was going to be. He promised he would never give up on her or himself in the future life, which touched a lot of people around the world when they saw his determined love and faith in life. To be honest, I was deeply moved by him especially when I saw him singing this song in before the microphone. He was so getting in to this song and his heart was already filled with love for her leaving little space for himself. I have never experienced this kind of feelings for I am still young, but I really appreciated their love and I am looking forward my own touching story as well!

Here is the lyrics of the song:

<What Are Words>
by Chris Medina

Anywhere you are, I am near

Anywhere you go, I'll be there

Anytime you whisper my name, you'll see

How every single promise I keep

Cuz what kind of guy would I be

If I was to leave when you need me most

What are words

If you really don't mean them

When you say them

What are words

If they're only for good times

Then they don't

When it's love

Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, They never go away

They live on, even when we're gone

And I know an angel was sent just for me

And I know I'm meant to be where I am
And I'm gonna be

Standing right beside her tonight

And I'm gonna be by your side

I would never leave when she needs me most

What are words

If you really don't mean them

When you say them

What are words

If they're only for good times

Then they don't

When it's love

Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, They never go away

They live on, even when we're gone

Anywhere you are, I am near
Anywhere you go, I'll be there

And I'm gonna be here forever more
Every single promise I keep

Cuz what kind of guy would I be

If I was to leave when you need me most

I'm forever keeping my angel close

A Barbecue with My Host Family

Last Saturday, March 27, 2010. I went to my host family and had a wonderful barbecue with them. They were very friendly and kind to me and my friend and they even invited their neighbors to join us.
At about 4 o’clock, we set out for our destiny-----Bishan MRT Station. After arriving at the City Hall station, we transferred to North-South line and headed for Bishan. After about 40 minutes, we finally got there. Having received a phone call from the elder brother of the host family, we straightly made our way to the taxi stand next to the bus station to meet him. He picked up us there and then drove us quickly to their home. Well, at first I thought we were going to have a barbecue in their back garden, but actually they were driving us to their friend’s apartment where there were a big swimming pool and many barbecue spots. We helped carry all the raw materials onto a table next to the barbecue grill. Then our first step was to start a fire, we put one piece of charcoal on another just like building toy bricks and inside each pile we put a combustible ball to start the fire.
After finishing 6 piles, we began to fan them with a big fan to make a bigger fire. The charcoal started giving out a heavy smoke which hurt my eyes and I could not even open my eyes until my tears appeared to moisturize my eyelids. Then another 40 minutes passed and we finally began our barbecue. We laid chicken rings and chicken chips on the hot grill to cook our starting dishes. I also learned to apply oil and honey on the food and it was really gratifying when I smell the scent of the cooked rings and chips.
After all the hard work, we finally had a chance to taste the delicious food cooked by ourselves! With the cool drinks, we gobbled the shrimps and the chicken to fill our empty stomach. That kind of feeling really drove away our tiredness when we were enjoying the feast with cool breeze drying our sweat after a sweating work with the fire.
That night, we had a pleasant talk with our host family and we began to feel more comfortable and less nervous fitting into this new country. I was really impressed by their kindness and really thanked them for treating us to such a feast. They even promised us a safari in the Singapore zoo next time and I am looking forward to that exciting journey now!

The gate of love

The gate of love
Unconsciously, our recess week is over. Perhaps some of us think that it is just so-so. But a surprising thing happened in Central South University in China. It just happened several days ago. I saw it from renren. And I want to share it with you.
One night, a girl’s name formed by lighted candles appeared under the girls’ dormitory. At first, everyone was confused and did not know what was happening. Then they knew that it was done by a boy. The boy liked the girl, so he spent a lot of time used the candles to form her name and there was a big love in her name. At night, he lighted the candles and asked the girl to come out to give her the surprise. It was very romantic and touching. And it really made a stir in Central South University.
However, not everything is perfect. The boy tried his best to do this, but the girl did not like him. She came down the building and walked towards him. Then she said something to him and left the view of her back to him without any hesitations. This actually meaned that she refused him.
Although the ending is not happy, but it becomes very famous in Central South University, which is called “The gate of love”.
I think it is romantic, but the girl has her own choice. No one is wrong. It is just a special experience in their lives.

Friends

Friends

AS Phoebe said "that is it", it was said to Monica' apartment, to friends, to the passing ten years.

We all say that life is like a drama and drama is like life. It would be prefect if our life is like a scene of Friends. However, I read an article few days ago which claimed that Chinese audience did not accompany the Friends for entire ten years as American did. We did not grow up with this drama, with these six persons. So we do not have feelings as deep as Americans. In fact, it is true. Whereas we did not grow up with the Friends step by step, it is only the Friends that can remain in our memory forever among so many American TV series. Every time I watch it, it brings me back to the years for idealism.

It is very cruel to say that every scene from their ten-year life will never happen in our real and peaceful life. What we miss is always past years, and what we are not willing to tell others is always our memory of past life. We were all ever full of youth and vitality. We all ever had an ideal for lifelong friendship and romantic and ordinary love. However, these ideals will never around us in the real and cruel life.

The atmosphere about idealism ran through the whole ten reasons. People who have dreams do not care for what problems they encounter in life. Just a smile and a hug can get you out of bad moods. As a result, Rachel left the Central Park for her favorite circle of fashion and said goodbye to princess time. Monica became the chief cook; Chandler began to do advertisement which is his childhood dream.

When I watched the interview of these six friends in the Central Park where they had been for almost thousands of times, I found these six persons were for the six roles. Their temperaments and life styles were similar to characters they played as in the drama. Aniston was as sensitive as Rachel; Cox was like Monica who was the big sister of three girls and she was very careful about doing anything; Lisa liked playing tricks just like Phoebe; David did everything carefully standing to the plans as Ross did...

There are so many details that have made you laugh or cry from these six friends during ten years. Perhaps the scene that touched us was too far from our real lives. However, most people choose to watch the Friends time and time again to recall some impressive scenes. I think it has been a habit for me to watch Friends; life may be not perfect but some details deserve remembering for the whole life.

our group picnic

During the recess week, our group held a gathering. We did not go to any famous or interest place. We did not have many activities. However, we all enjoyed ourselves. Just as our monitor said, perhaps it was the only change we could sit together and have a heart-to-heart talk. We treasured this opportunity.
At 3pm in the Monday, we set off to Kent Ridge Park. Fortunately, the minute we got the pavilion at the peak, some Indians just left. We spread plentiful of snack out on the table. I was touched when the monitor passed the mustard peanut to me and said she bought this for me. I just mentioned to her once that I liked mustard and was surprised that she remembered it. Our monitor also went around vivo in order to buy the entire snack we liked, to present an excellent picnic for us.
While we were eating, some monkeys suddenly appeared. At first, we were excited to see them, throwing some nuts to them and taking photos with them. The monkeys were so sly that they utilized our curiosity and drew near to us to grab our bananas. Some girls even could not help screaming. At that moment, Tom exploited his advantage of acting to the full. He acted as the monster and drove the monkey away successfully.
Time went by and night fell. The light in the pavilion glowed softly. We sat there quietly. Somebody suggested talking about the experience of love. No joking, no jeering, no despising. We are young but we understand the meaning of love. We listened carefully, to cheer and sigh together. We got into each other’s heart, having a better understanding of each other.
I felt cozy in this picnic.

Life is innocent

Life is innocent
On March 11, a big earthquake happened in Japan. There are almost 4500 people dead by now. It is really a pity. So many people are suffering from the disaster. Moreover, the rescue is still under way. What is worse, nucleus is leaking, which is more harmful for people there. The number of the dead people is continually increasing.
However, many people have prejudice on Japan. They are even happy that Japan has such problem and they do not care about the innocent lives. Some people even celebrate for this. I think what they do is wrong. Although they do not like Japan, the lives are innocent. Life is precious, and we should cherish life. They did not have good luck. They just lost their lives in seconds. They were so pitiful.
Furthermore, life is fair for everyone, which cannot be laughed at by anyone. Hatred cannot be related to life. We cannot make a link between life and prejudice. So I think we should pray for them. I hope that the damage will not be worse and they can live happily hereafter.
So from now on, let us pray for them. God will bless them.
