My visit to Singapore Art Museum

My visit to Singapore Art Museum
This Wednesday we had a learning journey to Singapore Art Museum and National Museum of Singapore after an English test. It was very interesting and we knew a lot of things from it. Singapore Art Museum especially impressed me a lot. It is a magical and dreamy museum, which really attracted me.
In the museum, there are many wonderful works made by famous artists, especially many beautiful and meaningful photographs and pictures. For example, “Fire of the Year” is a photograph reflecting the story of the Bukit Ho Swee Fire in 1961. “Butterfly” is a beautiful picture painted by Tan Oe Pang who is one of Singapore’s established ink artists. However, one photograph gave me much impression and made me think a lot about it. Its name is “Pink man”.
It reflects the political situation of Thailand at that time. It is about an incident in which many undergraduates were killed. In the photograph, a young man is cruelly hit by another man, nearly to die. The ironic thing is that there are many people watching this, but no one wants to hold it back; some people are even laughing at him. Moreover, there is a man in pink standing beside with a cart, looking at this scene. This seems to be a satire. What a ridiculous thing! Therefore, the politics in Thailand at that time was not good and brought so many miseries to its citizens. Of course, not just Thailand, but also many other countries have gone through similar periods. I am pity for those people who have suffered from these. At the same time, I have to say this can make a country develop.
All in all, this journey was really wonderful. It widened my horizon and I also learned a lot knowledge and history about Singapore. Thus, it was an unforgettable experience for me.
