One afternoon in Singapore museums

This Wednesday, after the progress test 2, we SM3 students had a learning journey at the National Museum of Singapore and Singapore Art Museum. With classmates and the tutor, we visited the museums taking many photographs. In these two museums, I learnt about the history of Singapore as well as the art in Singapore.
Before we entered the history gallery of the National Museum of Singapore, the staff handed round the companions to us. The companion was a handheld device which gave visitors guide in the museum. At first I listened to the companion carefully in English; however, it was not so easy for me to understand some words. Then I found the companion was available in English, Mandarin, Malay and Japanese and of course I chose Mandarin to learn about the history of Singapore easier. Although I listened to it in Mandarin, some information was still hard to absorb. In addition, we only had one hour to visit this museum while there were about nine hours information in the companion. So we could only scan the pictures, clothes, furniture and videos. I wanted to visit the National Museum of Singapore one more time one day to learn more.
Compared to the National Museum of Singapore, the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) was more interesting. There were many abstract artworks in it. Some of them were easily to understand while most of them were tough to understand the meaning. One interesting artwork was a special bookshelf, on the top and bottom of which there were two big mirrors. Many students were confused as they saw the bookshelf at first because the two mirrors let the bookshelf seem very tall, nearly unending.
We had not much time to stay there and time just flew. I wish I could visit these two museums again, to have more time to know about the history of Singapore and to understand the abstract artworks.
