Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year
Being our first Chinese new year in a foreign country by ourselves, the Chinese Rabbit year is really special. Accompanied by many friends, we suffer much less loneliness than our families.
In the afternoon of the Spring Festival Eve, we had a party in our classroom. It doesn’t matter what we did; what really counts is being together. We had dumplings that day. Though they are different from those we had at home, they can also bring us a valuable memory of the happy childhood.
Then came the dinner with our seniors. They cooked ten dishes for us, including chicken, fish, cauliflowers and so on. All of them are very delicious, so I even made up my mind to learn cooking. Their company made us feel less lonely. At night, we made dumplings, called our families and watched the New Year’s Eve entertainment. The program which impressed me most is the song sung by the Xidan Girl. Expressing the words of our hearts, the song really touched me. I still remember she sang” No matter where I go,I cannot go out of your heart. So long as you are there, there is nothing I am afraid of.”
I want to say ‘Thanks’ to all the people who try to give us a happy new year. They are the people who reduce our homesickness. Best wishes, at the beginning of the new year, for all of us can enjoy a better life here.
Happy Chinese New Year!

  1. I'm glad that though this Chinese New Year is quite different, you had fun with your new friends and seniors.
