During the weekend, I watched a classic American movie named The Truman Show. It is so famous that more than five friends have recommended it to me before. Indeed, after I completely watched the 103-minute-long film, I did get a powerful shock.
The movie put on in 1998 told a fiction story about an ordinary young man called Truman. Like other common residents living in his town, Truman go to work and back home every day. However, he could not manage to go outside his hometown no matter what approaches he uses. In addition, some unusual things did happen in Truman’s life. Not until Truman found himself always being followed after one day did he make up his mind to find the truth and escape from this boring place.
It is a movie full of sarcasm. The title has already indicated the theme. Nothing is true in the life of Truman. All the people Truman knows or believes are actors even his mother and wife. Those surroundings are fake entirely. What is more inconceivable is that the season changes and the sea tides are all made by the ‘great’ director Christopher. Everything we believe is just a TV show. Luckily, Truman defeated the strong storm on the sea and successfully get out of the false world. While, walking out of the movie, what is the reality meaning to us? Sometimes we may feel like fleeing out of our boring and bald life. Avoiding any calls or works for the whole day just to get relaxed. But we do not live in a virtual world as Truman does. Anyway, life is just about up-and-downs. So we get no choice but to face the difficulty or the challenge in our destiny.
God!It seems that we are like twins...I watched it last night...
ReplyDeleteI love the movie! Besides Jim Carrey's excellent acting, the movie got me thinking quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem to me that Man possess the desire to have control over everything in this world; so much so that Christof, the creator of the show, spent most of his time creating a complete reality out of a false world.
I'm glad you like the movie too, Yummy!
