Respect your interests
Next week we will choose our own major, so now some students are still very confused, including me. I cannot make a firm decision yet. The professors, seniors and even my parents all ask me to choose what I like and what I want to study.
This reminds me of an Indian comedy “Three idiots”. Three engineering students named Farhan, Raju, and Rancho become roommates at the Imperial College of Engineering. They go to study engineering for different purposes. Farhan studies engineering just because his father wants him to do this, but actually what he likes doing is photographing. Raju studies to earn much money for his family. Otherwise, Rancho has much passion for machines and devices, so he chooses to study engineering for joy. Then only Rancho studies very freely and happily, and gets very good grades. He also persuades Farhan’s father to let his son do what he likes.
Therefore, interests are very important. We had better not be like Farhan. He studies what he is not interested in, so he cannot get much fun from it and cannot enjoy studying, too. All in all, choosing majors is very vital, so we should take it very seriously. The most important thing is that we choose majors according to our interests. We should respect our interests. I hope that everyone can learn what they are interested in.
We all know that interest is important. However, few of us have a strong passion for one major.
