Two Experiences

Recently, I have been losing weight. I am not only on diet but also exercise every day, which is quite challenging for me. I still remember the first day when I did not have lunch. All students except me rushed to the canteen when the class was over. At that time, I felt so hungry that I could do nothing but drink water. The toughest time was when they returned to the classroom, talking happily about what they had for lunch. Some of them were even eating tempting fruit, which lured me to rush to the canteen and feast on dishes. When I was going to step out of the classroom, I hesitated. I said to myself that it was only the first step of losing weight. If I gave in to delicious food, I could hardly succeed in becoming slim. I learn a lot from the experience. Only if we are determined to resist lures can we be able to achieve our goals.

Another experience about choosing my major teaches me to be brave enough to have a try. When the day of choosing the major was around corner, I was extremely worried and anxious. Actually, I had no idea about the choice. Almost everyone told me to follow my heart and choose what I was interested in. However, the problem was that I was unaware of my interest. I just kept asking myself what I really liked. Finally, I got the answer. At the bottom of my heart, I clearly knew my interest. However, I was afraid the interest was temporary and I would regret making such a choice. In addition, I was uncertain whether other majors were more suitable for me. I hesitated to make a decision because I was not brave to take risk. From that, I realize that if we are not brave enough to have a try and struggle for our goal, the decision is always a mistake.

  1. We should think twice before we make a decision, but when we make up our mind, we should stick to it and do not give up.

  2. I usually give up my decision after several days, even several minutes…Keep your resolution.
