When I was young, I had known that Singapore was a city with serious rules; therefore I thought the people here must be observant of the traffic rules and live harmoniously.
However, I found something I had abhorred for a long time in China appearing in Singapore. There were some people jumping the queue audaciously without any reason. They said nothing and did not feel abashed: even some people advised them mildly but they did not mind! To my embarrassment, they are Chinese people and some of them are acquainted with me.I felt an antipathy against their behaviors. In the face of such situation, Ihad no choice but to lose in thought.
Why do many people have a bad impression on Chinese people? Why cannot we leave a good impression on other people? Even more woefully, those who jumped the queue were educated high school students.
Each one of those people should question himself, do I have a guilty conscience about that action. Remember to behave yourself well outsides, because you are not yourself, you are also on behalf of a Chinese.
