Last Saturday, we moved from Parry Hall to Eton Hall.
Let’s talk about Parry Hall first. It is really a beautiful place with a large football court and a small garden. The buildings are new and clean. I still remember when we first moved to Parry Hall, we were shocked by the environment. It made us feel close to nature. But there are many complains also. For example, the food was too bad and there were so many birds which could “steal” your food. Another thing we complained about was the location of it. It was too far away from the city center and the NUS. The only way we can go out was to take the MRT. However, looking back now, I feel the MRT is the most convenient way to go around compared with other forms of transportation.
Then talk about the Eton Hall. First, it is really nearer to the NUS, and it takes only about 15 minutes on the school bus. However, the school bus is always not on time.So sometimes, I return to Eton Hall even later than I returned to Parry Hall.
In addition, I want to say Eton Hall is too crowded! Our new room which holds 8 people is much smaller than the one in Parry Hall which holds only 4 people. I really miss the big rooms before. The bathroom and the cleaner and better in Parry Hall too.
One day, all of my roommates and I got up late because there was totally no light when the door and the windows are closed. We had no idea what time it was then.Again, I am missing the bright sunshine in Parry Hall.
Well, I really appreciate the the multi-functioned room in Eton Hall. Everyone have the chance to use the facilities there. And doing the laundry here is easier. We can get our clothes back in only one day. That is convenient.
I am not writing this to complain about Eton Hall.Perhaps, when we move to a new place, there are sure to be some complaints. Just because we are not used to the new environment. But as time goes by, when we have been used to it, when we have to leave it, we may miss it very much just as I miss Parry Hall.
We will not complain just for it is no use to complain. What we can do is to adapt. It is life, which does not always go according to our expectation. The world does not revolve on our opinion.
